Creating a magazine, Collaborating with expertises, Communicating a design.
First of all, I learned what it means to create a magazine. There are many creative processes involves. Basically, it comes down to different teams and dividing the workload into responsibilities. At the UNiD magazine there is a graphic, text, media and PR team. Each team has a chief. These chiefs decide what articles are going to be written. Each article is then appointed to one member of the graphic, text and media team. This means that I had to collaborate closely with members of the text and media team.
This collaboration had pros and cons. On the one hand, it was very nice to have three creatives to think out a coherence between the different elements. On the other hand, as a graphic designer, I often had to wait until the text and media team member delivered their materials. That created a lot of stress on my shoulders, as I was working under time pressure.
During my first year in the Master, I worked as a graphic designer for the UNiD Magazine. My work featured in three different magazines.
